Which WBHS students participate in the spring fashion show?
Students enrolled in WBHS Fashion
Students enrolled in a WBHS Fashion class will be the most involved in the spring fashion show. Students will work on a committee to help organize, implement and evaluate the show. The third card marking is spent on the fashion show and is equivalent to approximately 30% of each students marking period 3 grade. Students will also have an opportunity to model in the show if they wish. Committee options consist of:
Merchandise Committee - communicate with local retail store owners regarding clothing, fittings, models and clothing needed. Students will need to be available outside of school during the week of the show.
Modeling Committee - communicate with the models in regards to their modeling contracts, appointments, reminders and rehearsals.
Staging Committee - create the opening video, show powerpoint, program and photos.
Choreography - each choreographer will choreograph and teach 1-2 numbers for the show to 4-10 students in class. Must have prior dance or choreography experience.
Hospitality - students will help to organize the fashion show raffle donations and sales project. Students will also help to secure food, snacks, donations and volunteers for rehearsals.
Advertising- students will work to create a logo, signs, ticket, raffle tickets and various promotional items to promote the show. Ability to use canva or similar is helpful.
All students will be asked to implement the steps of the selling process twice throughout the school year. Marking Period 2: Secure a local store agreement to loan merchandise for the spring fashion show OR secure a raffle donation for annual raffle. Marking Period 3: Selling raffle and show tickets for the spring show.
Students wishing to further their knowledge of fashion outside of what is learned in the classroom are encouraged to participate in the WBHS Fashion Club. Students involved in this club will work as directors for each of the fashion show committees and work closely with local businesses. Students in the fashion club will have an opportunity to model in the fashion show if available during class rehearsals. Students should:
